*spoiler alert* Zombie Comic Titled "Breach" by J.L. Bourne

You can read about it here or purchase it here.

I was approached by my agent as well as the band The Devil Wears Prada to write a script for a comic to support their new Zombie EP dropping in August. I wrote the script based loosely in the DBDA universe. I had 80% creative control. The band requested I change a couple plot elements to support their EP release (the whole purpose of the comic).

The real reason you should check it out?

It says limited edition, does that mean to indy for amazon?

Just went to Amazon and it is available for preorder either as an EP CD or vinyl. I put mine on order of course. Hopefully we get it before the foreign contingent does, eh? (that's my fake Canuckian accent there) Oh, and thanks for the great birthday present. It is almost as good as a new M&P45!

Edit for birthday happiness!

The artwork for the cover looks pretty sweet. I take it that we may finally see a visualization of our favorite protagonist?

No, none of the characters from DBDA 1 or 2 are in this comic. It's oriented more to Prada's EP release. I've seen it, it's cool. Just a visual glimpse into the DBDA universe.

That makes it sound as though the protagonists partner on the China trip will be a completely new character. Interesting.

I just pre-ordered mine. Their music isn't for me, but I'll give the CD to my brother, he'll probably love it. I just want the comic!

Just got the email alert that my MerchNow purchase (aka Zombie EP from The Devil Wears Prada and the Zombie comic) has been shipped. Hopefully I will be home from my road gig to get it from the postal service myself. Hey, is that Carly Simon I hear singing? :D

Edit: There's a video short for the EP here that has an interesting premise and a taste of tunes from the band.

I'm not a fan of that type of music at all, but that video was freaking awesome.

I ordered the CD just for the comic and it should be here soon. I think my brother listens to that crap so I'll pass it on to him.

Um.... cool video. The "music"? Not so much. LOL. If nothing else, it's one more medium, right?

If you want the comic you will likely need to go to either the above mentioned web-site or a live show to get it. The site also offers the EP in your choice of vinyl or CD.

Edited for this:
Mine was delivered Saturday - but I'm still in Texas on a gig. It sucks, but it is also overtime and I have something to look forward to when I get home tomorrow.

Well, I got it and read it. Like most things I enjoy reading, it ends too soon. It does have a clue to the future of the story though, and that was fun. Get it for the thrill gents. I have yet to listen to the EP but I will. My Baby Girl and her hubby both like the band and have some of there tunes already so they are, "You going to keep it?" I gave them the look, the hoarder one, and then we all laughed.

Rap, thanks for the peek, now to someone giving you what you deserve to write the next volume in the story.

Just signed up so I could post a reply to this.
The comic was definitely way too short, but was pretty well done none the less. I am actually a pretty big fan of the band and have been listening to them for years. You can pick up the book and the EP at any Hot Topic (shameless plug for my employer) store. It was on sale for $7.99, but just got bumped up to $9.99 today. This comic was how I found out about the DBDA story in the first place. I just finished reading Beyond Exile about 15 minutes ago. I have really enjoyed reading the books (the first one I finished in one sitting after picking it up after work on the 24th.) Hopefully we'll see the DBDA story transferred to more mediums in the near future.

Thanks Mr. Bourne for giving us such an awesome story!
